Brabus Gives Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² More Power, Torque And Style
Brabus will unveil its take on the Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4² at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The German tuner has given the rugged off-roader more power and torque, as well exterior and interior enhancements.
Thanks to the Brabus B40 – 500 PowerXtra performance kit consisting of a recalibrated electronic boost pressure control and remapped injection and ignition, the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine produces an extra 78PS (78hp) and 100Nm (74lb-ft), making the 3-tonne SUV significantly more agile.
The Brabus-tuned G 500 4×4² is rated at 500PS (493hp) at 5,600 rpm and 710Nm (523lb-ft) of torque available between 2,250 and 4,250 rpm. Mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, the engine allows the 4×4² to cover the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in just 6.9 seconds. Top speed is limited electronically to 210 km/h (130 mph) to protect the all-terrain tires.
