The all-new 2019 Volkswagen Arteon, the coupe-shaped sedan that will replace the CC and sit above the Passat in the marque’s U.S. lineup, is getting sporty R-Line trim in New York later this month. Designed to give the new premium sedan a sharper look inside and out, this package will include the option of exclusive 19- or 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a unique front bumper with large air intakes, redesigned air inlets and cover panels and a gloss black spoiler out back.
On the inside, the R-Line Arteon will offer steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, stainless-steel sport pedal covers, contrast stitching on the steering wheel and shifter knob, a black headliner, stainless-steel doorsills with the R-Line logo and metallic accent panels.
“The Arteon is Volkswagen’s brand shaper,” said Hinrich J. Woebcken, CEO of Volkswagen’s North American region during the model’s debut at the Chicago auto show. “This car is the spiritual successor to the CC, but it is bolder and faster. Arteon has the style and performance of a luxury gran turismo for about the price of a fully loaded midsize sedan.”
